Cardi B wore three Thierry Mugler dresses at the Grammys!

The winner of the 2019 Best Rap Album made sure she shared the stage with one of the biggest names in fashion

“Mugler’s vision remains unique,” writes Nathalie Bondil, the Director general of Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in our new book Thierry Mugler: Couturissime. “So iconic that a generation of photographers and now stars like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé use his designs again.”

Now we can add Cardi B, the winner of the 2019 Grammy for Best Rap Album to that illustrious list.  The 26-year-old recording artist wore not one but three vintage Mugler creations during the awards show.

She wore an incredible pink duchess and satin velvet Venus sheath dress over a blush embellished bodysuit from Mugler’s fall winter 1995-1996 couture collection for her arrival, then donned a long white crêpe shawl fringe dress with fringe gloves from Mugler’s spring summer 1997 couture collection, Les Insectes, to accept her award; and a black organza peacock crinoline with black velvet panther flocking jumpsuit from the designer’s fall winter 1995-1996 collection for her performance.
