Kids books go on the menu at the Park Hyatt NY

Phaidon’s Feed Your Mind hotel programme gives younger guests culinary adventure and intellectual nourishment

On Friday, five-star luxury met preschool learning, with the launch of our Feed Your Mind programme at the Park Hyatt New York - a new programme offering the hotel’s younger visitors nourishment for mind, body and soul via our great children’s books.

Author Joshua David Stein addressed an audience of around 40 children and parents from all of New York’s five boroughs, reading from his new book for curious young epicures, Can I Eat That?

This whimsical–yet factual title for 3-to-5 year-olds poses a series of questions about things we eat, and should not eat. The book’s illustrator, Julia Rothman was also on hand, to help the children draw some truly delicious looking illustrations, while the Park Hyatt’s chefs prepared a show, tell and taste buffet, featuring in the book, including sea urchins, faraway doughnuts and close-up cheerios.

This Hyatt event forms part of a wider Feed Your Mind progamme at the hotel, which includes Phaidon activity packs for younger guests, a complimentary turndown service, with milk, cookies and an age appropriate book from the Phaidon list, as well as a tableside book cart service for younger readers, offered in the hotel restaurant.
