How does our Breakfast: The Cookbook author start her day?

In Beirut or Brooklyn, Emily Elyse Miller finds a way to do the most important meal of the day in style

Emily Elyse Miller is very much a ‘morning’ person. The New York based writer is the founder and creative director of BreakfastClub, a company specializing in all things sunrise; she offers walking breakfast tours of Manhattan’s Lower East Side; and she’s also the author of our new all-encompassing Breakfast: The Cookbook.

So, how does she do the most important meal of the day? Well, in so many different ways. Miller has been posting details of her daily routine on Instagram, and, when it comes to the breakfast menu, her tastes know no bounds.

Take this entry from 5 March 2018. “It’s 8:00am in Mexico City and I’m in need of coffee,” she writes, posting the update alongside a ”glorious ring of churros.”

Or this one from 19 April 2017. “I have to tell you something!” writes Miller. “Pao de queijo (a Brazilian cheese bread made with cassava flour) is the best bread on earth. Typically eaten for breakfast with a pingado (coffee with a drop of milk), it has the lightness of a Martin's Potato Roll bred with cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster. Highly recommend.”
