Our Magnum book has made it to Arles!

Magnum Photobook: The Catalogue Raisonné has been shortlisted for Rencontres d'Arles’ Historical Book Award

We knew when we were compiling our recent publication, Magnum Photobook: The Catalogue Raisonné, that we were putting together a little piece of photo history.

The book is the first and only title to categorically detail every photobook published by the world’s most important photo agency; what’s more, our publication neatly preceded the gala celebrations staged to mark Magnum’s 70th birthday.

Nevertheless, we were pleased to see our book shortlisted for Rencontres d'Arles’ Historical Book Award 2017. While the Photo Paris and Photo London fairs might draw in the collectors, this publically funded, critically-acclaimed south of France photography festival is regarded as a true photographer’s event, where photographic artistry trumps the market every time.

This is the first time one of our books has made the Arles shortlist, and we’ve very proud to have spreads from the title on show during the festival’s opening week, 3 – 9 July.

For more on the awards go here; and if you’re unable to make it to France this summer, you can always order a copy of Magnum Photobook: The Catalogue Raisonné here.
